ABSTRACT:
In this talk, I will give an overview of the advances in wireless network technology and challenges of multimedia communication over wireless networks. Specifically, I will talk about various types of wireless networks such as, wi-fi, ad hoc, sensor and cognitive networks and their applications in consumer, homeland security and military. I will also discuss what new challenges the multimedia data (such as image, audio, video) present in designing the network protocols.
