CSRC Events

With a mission to train the scientists, professors, and industry leaders of tomorrow by utilizing a diverse, interdisciplinary set of computational tools and research skills, the CSRC hosts a variety of events to add to the knowledge and experience of their students. From weekly lectures on a variety of topics to trips to national and international conferences, our students have a multitude of opportunities to learn skill-sets and concepts that will impact their research well into the future.

ACSESS (Applied Computational Science & Engineering Student & Computational Science Curriculum Development): In this annual panel discussion, students, educators, and industry representatives meet to discuss the merits of the CSRC’s interdisciplinary programs and generate fresh ideas for curriculum improvement. Students are also encouraged to present posters of their research projects, including discussing their research with judges, professors, and fellow students.

Colloquium: This weekly lecture series gives CSRC students the opportunity to learn about an incredibly diverse range of topics, from “The Physics and Simulation of Fusion Plasmas” to “Accelerating Computations in Very Large Applications Using Data Flow-based Accelerators.” National and international leaders from academia and industry discuss their research, with discussions following the lecture moderated by CSRC faculty.
