Faculty
True to the interdisciplinary nature of the Computational Science Research Center, our faculty roster is made up of more than forty eminent professors from a wide array of departments at SDSU, including mathematics, biology, engineering, computer science, chemistry, astronomy, geology, and physics. We also have partnerships with adjunct faculty around the world, including industry leaders, head scientists at national labs, and distinguished professors from Keck Graduate Institute in Southern California to the University of Zurich in Switzerland.
CSRC faculty are not only award-winning educators, they are also renowned scientific researchers who have been awarded a combined sum of over 25 million dollars in grant funds over the last few years. The DOD, DOE, NSF, and NIH are some of the major federal contributors; along with universities such as UC San Diego, USC, and UC Davis. These grants are supporting studies on everything from the “Autophagy, Adenosine and Pyruvate Protection During Heart Surgery” to the “Pathways of Lambda Site-specific Recombination,” and everything in-between. There is an amazing diversity of knowledge and experience represented by our faculty, which creates unparalleled opportunities for CSRC students in their graduate studies and research.
