SPEAKER:

Dr. Zeba Wunderlich, Department of Developmental and Cell Biology, UC Irvine.

ABSTRACT:

Our lab is interested is understanding the function and mechanisms of

the regulatory DNA, e.g. enhancers, that encodes the gene regulatory

networks driving diverse biological processes, such as development and

immunity. I will discuss a few efforts to use evolutionary comparisons

as a strategy to understand mechanisms of enhancer function, using

Drosophila as a model system.
