ABSTRACT:

Mimetic differences have recently evolved to a more abstract formulation. This new framework focuses on the essential properties of the method without specifying particular matrix representations of the mimetic vector calculus discrete analog operators. One of the advantages of this new approach is that it facilitates the proofs of the quantities preserved by mimetic schemes in the case of general systems of conservation laws, as well as its numerical convergence.
