ABSTRACT:
As computing capacity of modern mobile devices increases, user desires become more complex, and emerging applications demand more performance than battery-powered devices can provide. Next-generation networks, e.g., 5G radio, can make additional computing capacity available to mobile devices in realtime through end-edge-cloud networks of cyber-physical systems (CPS). To effectively maximize utilization in CPS devices, we need to deploy intelligent runtime resource managers. I will describe how to design and deploy resource managers for energy-efficient autonomous devices to share resources (a) within devices and (b) across networks of devices dynamically at runtime.
