ABSTRACT:
Creating art by working with various forms of digital technology over the last 20 years, Sheldon Brown’s work has become increasingly involved with the technological and cultural forms of computer gaming. While these artworks aren’t “games” per se, they have a congruency with the methods and modes of computer games and are increasingly framed by the reception of games in culture at large. The culmination of approaches to creating these works has led to the formation of an atelier/research lab for creating experimental games, which harnesses approaches for making new forms of culture that are at the leading edges of technology development across the computer industry, game industries and academic research.
