ABSTRACT:

Cartoon + texture decomposition algorithms have recently found some interesting applications in different area of science and engineering. In this talk, I will introduce the mathematical concepts permitting to perform such decomposition. Notably, I will present Meyer’s model and its numerical implementation as well has some of its mathematical properties. Finally, I will present a theorem which characterizes solutions of such model with respect to the choice of the parameters and the introduction of Littlewood-Paley operators. This theorem allows us to build a parameterless multiscale decomposition algorithm.
