| Abstract
|
| The oil and gas industry
are a perfect target for applications
of mathematics techniques. From subsurface
exploration to production, refining,
transport and finally distribution
of oil, gas and products, real life
mathematical and decision problems
arise continuously. This mini-workshop
aims at bringing together scientists
and engineers from academia, research
laboratories, and industry, to promote
the application mathematics techniques
to the oil and gas industry problems.
Papers on all aspects of mathematical
theory, and computational and applied
mathematics focus to solve oil and
gas industry problem are invited to
be presented at the mini-workshop. |

Modeling and Simulation of the Production
Process of Electrical Energy in a
Geothermal Power Plant |
| In this work we present a numerical
model to simulate the production process
of electrical energy in a geothermal
power plant. The model considers the
description of a geothermal power
plant structure as a directed graph.
Thus, we can obtain different plant
structures as an input in order to
be able to consider different possibilities.
Given an input description, the model
validates its topological feasibility
based on the definition of the considered
equipment and the related thermo dynamical
functioning parameters. A Breadth
First Search (BFS) algorithm traverses
the given input description in order
to study the energy interactions among
the equipment. The results are given
in terms of the intrinsic evolution
state of the working fluid, generated
electrical energy and efficiency of
the generation process. The implemented
model has been tested for production
scenarios under the reservoir conditions
from different working geothermal
power plants.
