Description |
| Currently, many scientific
fields can produce large amounts of
data resulting from different processes
and experiments. These data must be
deeply analyzed and comprehended,
so as to potentially lead to new methods
and inventions which can push forward
current knowledge and technology.
Most of the times, understanding the
data can be very challenging due to
its dimensionality, size or scale,
among other factors. This is where
Scientific Visualization plays an
important role, since it provides
methods to represent these data graphically
in such a way that it can be analyzed
and understood faster, easier and
better. This course starts with a
review of the current state of the
art of the scientific visualization
field, and then follows with a description
of data acquisition and representation
methods. Then, the course will focus
on different methods for displaying
the data and current applications
of these methods.
