Numerical Discretizations for a Darcy - Forchheimer Model
     Presenter: Jose Javier Salas Gonzalez

Abstract

This paper studies different discretizations for a mixed formulation of the Darcy-Forchheimer's equation. We combine several finite elements schemes over velocity and pressure. Specifically, for velocity we use piecewise-constant and standard P1 functions, and for pressure Crouzeix-Raviart and standard P1 elements. Some test problems were considered to analyze the behavior of the discretizations and a comparative study was conducted. Preliminary results show the reliability of the proposed discretizations.
