Online Cephalometric Analysis on Scanned Images as Aid for Orthodontic Diagnosis
     Presenter: Jhonattan Pia
     Co-Authors: Zenaida Castillo
Abstract

A critical part of orthodontic treatment is the diagnosis. One of the most useful tools to make an orthodontic diagnosis is the Ricketts Cephalometric analysis. Thus, the aim of this work is to develop a computational environment that it allows to define points and measures of interest on a cephalometric scanned image, in order to apply a Ricketts analysis as an aid for orthodontists. The application can be used from any web server compatible with a Java virtual machine. Preliminary tests show that cephalometric analysis on scanned images does not increase the measurement error and it could be used as a low cost solution to do clinical diagnosis.
