Jerry currently is a 1st year PhD student in the Computational Science Program. He earned his B.S. from Caltech in 2003 in Electrical and Computer Engineering.  He then received his M.S. from UCSD in 2005, with a degree in Bioengineering.
Jerry’s research in being done in Bioinformatics, Systems Biology.  He is interested in the analysis of biological data. Specifically, his current focus is on the analysis of time-course microarrays, using techniques from electrical

engineering such as Fourier analysis and methods from economics such as non-linear forecasting. The goal of the work is two-fold. For the research community, the goal is to gain some insight into the dynamics of gene expression. For the medical community, the goal is to develop data analysis software that could potentially be used for diagnostics.
