  Professional Master's Programs

The Computational Science program offers a PSM (MS with concentration on Professional Applications), which is project-based and business-oriented.

PSM Overview

The PSM degree has an interdisciplinary cast and is offered in collaboration with the departments of Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Geological Sciences, Mathematics, and Physics. The degree's curriculum is driven by real-world problems and includes:

Visualization/Communication
Team Projects
Internships (required for the PSM)
Business Basics (required for the PSM)

The PSM, being business based, leads to careers in management of technology in a wide variety of fields.

The PSM degree is offered in conjunction with the Sloan Foundation supported PSM programs around the country. The program was launched in response to industry requests for better-trained professionals with advanced degrees.
