The Computational Science program at San Diego State University offers a online Advanced Certificate degree through the College of Extended Studies.

The Advanced Certificate in Professional Computational Science is designed to provide for private and public industry professionals as well as graduate students who wish to learn professional and technical computational skills in their primary fields of study. Skills include: use of tools available for scientific applications development (particularly those targeted for parallel and distributed computer systems), scientific visualization, database query, simulation and modeling packages, computational templates such as Matlab and Maple, and the choice of appropriate hardware resources for different classes of problems.

The advanced certificate degree requires 12 units to include COMP 526, 601, 626, and 696.
